Now according to Apple Documentation you must develop your game to use the Remote & MFi Game controllers are not required to play, this leads to serious restrictions for developers on what games can translate over to AppleTV.
It also stunts the growth of AppleTV Gaming, if ever there was a case for "shooting yourself in the foot" then this is it.
Apple should listen to Game developers and loosen their rules on this ridiculous requirement.
It is also understood Apple need to of course support their hardware fully and not rely on a 3rd party manufacturer for gaming. Our solution: "Apple should Buy "Steelseries" or "MOGA" and ship a Game controller with every New Apple TV, allowing them the flexibility to support developers & grow Apple Gaming on the Big Screen TV.
NOT work themselves into a corner! (which is exactly what they are doing now)
Check out the report from Ars Technica
We saw this tweet from MFi Gamer & wondered what exactly they meant??
It now appears that if Apple are allowed to enforce this "remote only requirement" then this is all that game developers can implement with an MFi Game controller on Apple TV.
